Mason Asset Management & Partners Buys Two Regional Malls

Mason Asset Management, in partnership with Namdar Realty Group and CH Capital Group, acquired two enclosed Texas malls, in a transaction totaling 1.1 million square feet. The deal saw the sale of the 663,978-square-foot South Park Mall in San Antonio and the 511,566-square-foot Westgate Mall in Amarillo.

JLL’s Dave Monahan, Cameron Pittman, Akhil Patel, Claudia Steeb and Barry Brown represented the seller.

South Park Mall, situated on 48.5 acres at 2310 S.W. Military Dr., is south San Antonio’s only enclosed mall. The center opened in 1968, and has been renovated several times, most recently in 2018. The property is 98% leased to national tenants.

Westgate Mall is on 93.7 acres at 7701 W. Interstate 40, the only enclosed mall within a nearly 100-miles radius. The property opened in 1982, with renovations taking place in 2006, 2007 and 2017. The 80% occupied retail center is home to anchor and major tenants.
