Marriott Moving Global HQ to Proposed $600M BTS in Bethesda
Marriott International executed a lease to move its global HQ to 7750 Wisconsin Avenue, a proposed $600-million, build-to-suit development in Bethesda, MD. The 22-story, 700,000-square-foot office tower is slated to house 3,500 Marriott employees.
The transit-oriented project near the Bethesda Metro will be developed in a joint venture between The Bernstein Companies and Boston Properties, and will include a more than 230-room flagship hotel to be owned by Bernstein Co.’s and managed by Marriott.
Marriott has been at its current HQ, located at 10400 Fernwood Rd. in Bethesda, since 1978. Both the office building and the hotel are set to deliver in 2022.
A team of 14 JLL professionals, across multiple business lines, put the deal together. It was led by Robb Johnson, Morgan Sullivan, Chris Molivadas, Jim Cahill and Ken Sacco. Molivadas and Greg Lubar also led full teams for PDS and Business Incentives.
