Marriott Capitol Hotel Construction Launched in Omaha
Marcus Hotels & Resorts and Shamrock Development Inc. have launched construction on the Marriott Capitol District Hotel at Capitol Avenue and 10th Street in downtown Omaha, NE. The 333-key hotel, scheduled for a late-2017 completion, is the anchor of the $205 million, mixed-use Capitol District development.
The new Marriott hotel will have 16,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, with an additional 16,500 square feet of pre-function space. The 11,000 square-foot ballroom will be one of the largest among the downtown Omaha hotels.
In addition to the hotel, the Capitol District development will include 218 luxury residential apartments, Class A office space, a 525-stall parking garage, and 90,000 square feet of retail space. Also included will be a plaza area, similar to a town square, that will be used for events and concerts.
