Marketing Agency Moves NYC Headquarters to Gowanus

U.K.-based marketing agency Mother is moving its New York City headquarters from Hell’s Kitchen to Brooklyn, signing a lease for 61,000 square feet at the Roulston House in Gowanus. Reportedly it’s one of the largest creative office leases done in Brooklyn to date.

“This deal showcases the demand for office space in Brooklyn, especially given today’s current climate since Brooklyn has larger floor plates for a more competitive price per square foot,” said Michael Schoen of Savitt Partners’ The Schoen Group.

Currently owned by both Industrie Capital Partners and Aurora Capital Associates, Roulston House was occupied as a central warehouse and headquarters by the Roulston company, a Brooklyn-based grocery store chain, from 1910 to 1951. At one time, Roulston operated 300 stores citywide.

The Schoen Group team of Michael Schoen, Marc Schoen and Harrison Katzman represented Mother in the deal. ICP’s Joseph Hamway and Josh Sloan represented ownership.
