Local Orion Group Expands Concrete Business into Central Texas

Houston-based Orion Group Holdings is acquiring Tony Bagliore Concrete (TBC) for $6 million. TBC, headquartered in Austin, will be rebranded as part of Orion Group’s TAS Commercial Concrete Business. TBC provides concrete for tilt-wall construction, as well as construction for parking garages, foundations, curbs, gutters and paving.

Orion Group Holdings provides commercial construction services for projects including marine pipeline construction and dredging. Orion expanded into the concrete business in 2015.

“TBC is a proven concrete contractor with a strong reputation for quality, safety and reliability in the greater Austin-area market, which is a market we have targeted for entry,” stated Orion Group’s Mark Stauffer.

“The Central Texas market continues to experience tremendous growth in nonresidential construction as a result of significant population changes,” he added. “Population in the Central Texas area is expected to more than double by 2050, with significant development along the I-35 corridor from San Antonio through Austin to Waco.”
