Liberty Lands South Bay ‘Heavyweight Corridor’ Facility, Land

Wayne, PA-based Liberty Property Trust acquired a 203,280-square-foot building at 1245 Watson Center Dr., and an adjacent 2.3-acre parcel at 1161 Watson Center Dr., both in Carson, CA.

Liberty Property Trust’s Erin Plourde (pictured) says, “These infill properties are in the highly desired ‘heavyweight corridor’ – an area near the Port of Long Beach at which very heavy loads can be transported via truck without additional fees. The building is fully leased, as is the land parcel with near-term rollover.”

The cross-dock building is 400-feet deep and features 44 dock doors, five rail doors and a 10-position truck dock along the rail spur. The building has office and mezzanine space, as well as roughly 25,000 square feet of cooler space. The adjacent parcel of land, currently being utilized for trailer storage, is 175 feet wide and 615 feet deep and includes a small building.

CBRE’s John Schumacher represented the buyer.
