Lendlease Begins Pre-leasing on 1st of 5 Southbank Towers

Lendlease has unveiled renderings for its first ground-up development in Chicago, The Cooper at Southbank, a residential high-rise that’s part of the developer’s Southbank mixed-use project along the Chicago River. The 29-story tower has also begun pre-leasing, with delivery expected for September.

“The Cooper, our first ground-up development in Chicago and one of five residential towers planned in Southbank, presents Chicagoans with an opportunity to explore a new urban frontier that will serve as a natural extension of downtown, while being a destination in itself,” said Justin Patwin, Lendlease’s project director for Southbank.

“In addition to bringing a highly amenitized, place-inspired residential experience to the vibrant South Loop neighborhood, it will also activate one of Chicago’s greatest assets with a long-awaited riverfront park.”

Comprising as many as 2,700 units, the five towers will be situated around Southbank Park, a two-acre green space designed by Chicago-based landscape architecture firm Hoerr Schaudt.
