Law School Relocates Campus to Office Tower in Downtown San Diego
Thomas Jefferson School of Law signed a new lease to reposition, but retain its campus within the heart of downtown San Diego. The law school leased a total of 56,338 square feet, spanning two full floors at 701 B St., a 24-story 571,333-square-foot Class A tower.
The law school’s new campus will be about one-third the size of its existing campus that currently resides in an eight-story building in San Diego’s East Village. The reduced footprint and overhead is expected to allow the school to reallocate funds to provide scholarship opportunities. It will be provided its own entrance and private elevator to service its new space at 701 B St.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Tom van Betten and Casey Sterck represented the tenant in the new long-term lease. The asset is owned by Emmes, which was represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Derek Hulse and Philip Roberts.
