Law Firm Switches from West Loop to East

Law firm Kopon, Airdo LLC has signed a 13,343-square-foot, long-term lease at AmTrust Realty’s 111 E. Wacker Dr. in a relocation from Willis Tower. Colliers International’s Tony Karmin, Corby Marx and John Iglar represented Kopon.

“Our client was seeking a new updated law firm environment reflective of its culture and brand, and with that, the ability to customize their work environment,” said Karmin. “We were able to find them raw space with stunning north views overlooking the Chicago River in a property that met all of their real estate needs.”

Kopon is moving from Willis Tower this month. Karmin said a law firm switching from the popular West Loop to the East Loop is unusual, but Kopon valued building amenities and a “blank canvas” over everything else.

JLL represented AmTrust, which acquired 111 E. Wacker and neighboring 233 E. Michigan Ave. from Equity Commonwealth in 2015.
