Lack of Interest Puts Hold On 150K-SF Twelve Weston

Twelve Weston, a 12-story, 150,000-square-foot office tower planned for downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been put on hold after little interest was shown by office and retail tenants. Developer SIBSCO LLC is looking at possibly developing a residential project.

The site at Division Avenue and Weston Street SW was formerly home to older buildings that were demolished in 2014. The original Twelve Weston was to include a restaurant and retail space on the ground floor, and several levels of office space.

Class A office demand in the CBD has been uncertain, as many large building projects are in the pipeline. But there is a high need for residential space downtown, said Charlie Secchia, a principal with SIBSCO LLC.
