The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which is owned by the University of Southern California (USC), could soon be getting a major renovation, to the tune of $270 million.
The redevelopment, which was previously forecast as a $70-million-to-$100 million revamp, would include a new structure on the south side of the facility, featuring luxury suites, loge boxes, and a press booth. Other probable improvements include complete seat replacements, handrails and restoration work on the peristyle end.
If approved, construction on the L.A. Coliseum would begin after the final game of the Trojans’ 2017 football season. Work would end two years later, when the facility could reportedly be vying for a Los Angeles NFL team, or hosting the 2024 Summer Olympics.
