Kevin Hampton to Lead Buchanan Street’s MF Platform

Newport Beach, CA-based Buchanan Street Partners plans to deploy $500 million in the multifamily sector over the next five years. To accomplish that goal, the investment firm launched a new multifamily platform and brought on Kevin Hampton to lead it. Hampton joins from PLC Apartments, where he served as president.

Buchanan Street Partners’ Tim Ballard said, “Kevin is a seasoned veteran that brings 25 years of multifamily investment and development experience. We were very focused on finding the right addition to our team, and Kevin is a perfect culture fit with tremendous expertise.”

The move to further diversify the company’s investment business comes at a time when apartment assets are attractive to investors across the West Coast. Buchanan Street’s historic investment portfolio includes more than 14,000 multifamily units, typically as equity partner. Going forward, the company plans to focus on direct acquisitions, primarily core-plus and value-add investment opportunities.
