Jonna Realty Breaks Ground on BTS for Autoliv
Automotive safety giant Autoliv has broken ground on what will become its new North American electronics technical center in the Detroit suburb of Southfield, MI. Signature Associates’ John Gordy brokered the build-to-suit deal, on behalf of landlord Jonna Realty Ventures.
The 180,000-square-foot BTS will sit on 10 acres and will help Autoliv to consolidate its operations and relocate 600 workers, with plans to hire more in the next five years. The property can house up to 900 Autoliv employees.
“The facility will provide an innovative environment to support the sophisticated operations conducted at the property, including the creation of automated driving technology and new, clean mobility along with other high-technology and engineering work,” said Jonna president Christine Jonna Piligian. It’s expected to be completed in the first half of 2019.
