Joe’s Crab Shack Locations Suddenly Shuttering

Days after the announced acquisition by Houston-based Landry’s Inc. of Ignite Restaurant Group Inc.’s assets, Joe’s Crab Shack restaurants are starting to close around the country, according to various reports. Joe’s Crab Shack and Brick House Tavern + Tap restaurant chains were owned by Ignite Restaurant Group, before it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2017.

The Consumerist reports closed Crab Shack locations in Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia. In addition, Brick House Tavern restaurants also closed in Niles, IL and Fort Worth, TX. Employees indicated that the closures were “abrupt and startling,” according to the Consumerist.
