Jockey Joins Apparel Lineup at Staten Island Outlet Center
Jockey International will open its first New York City location at BFC Partners’ Empire Outlets, the Staten Island outlet center scheduled to open this spring. The 2,744-square-foot store will join an apparel retailer lineup that includes H&M, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Nordstrom Rack, Gap Factory and Columbia Sporting Goods.
“With sales in the underwear market segment expected to reach nearly $150 billion by 2021, it made perfect sense to ink this deal with Jockey,” said James Prendamano, CEO of Casandra Properties Inc, leasing broker for Empire Outlets. “This Jockey store will be the first of its kind, not only in Staten Island, but all of New York City.”
Founded in 1876, Jockey now has more than 100 branded stores in the U.S., and also counts the country’s biggest retailers as its partners. Its clothing line includes undergarments, activewear, sleepwear and loungewear.
