JLL Markets Air Rights Over Old Chelsea Post Office
JLL is leading the sale of approximately 67,500 square feet of air rights for additional development atop the Old Chelsea post office at 217 W. 18th St. The existing Old Chelsea Station, which was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, will continue to operate as a post office.
Brock Emmetsberger will lead a JLL team, including Jeanne Davis and Danny Mankovsky, to market the opportunity. JLL serves as the U.S. Postal Service’s national real estate service provider.
“The Postal Service is seeking a buyer for the air rights above the existing property, which is positioned to benefit from the extraordinary location in the heart of Chelsea,” said Emmetsberger.
He added, “With New York’s expanding technology sector and Oxford Properties Group’s transformation of the St. John’s Terminal Building adding another 1.7 million square feet of office space, the city faces unprecedented demand for new housing.”
Connect Texas Multifamily will take place August 15, 2019 in Dallas. For more information, or to register, click here.
