JERDE Tapped for Rose Bowl Revamp
The Rose Bowl Operating Company tapped JERDE to develop a plan to revise key parts of the Rose Bowl Stadium property in Pasadena. The National Historic Landmark stadium built in 1922 will be re-envisioned with an eye to introduce new programming possibilities.
JERDE’s John Simones says, “The Rose Bowl Stadium is one of the world’s most storied sporting venues, and it is an honor to work with this amazing property.” He notes they “will look for opportunities to appropriately update the property in ways that make sense for both the Rose Bowl and the surrounding communities.”
The work will encompass permanent changes to accommodate new programming; access and parking; and an overarching vision to promote and maintain the unique character and identity of the site.
The Rose Bowl Operating Co.’s Darryl Dunn noted JERDE is “one of the world’s most respected names in placemaking and urban planning,” and its experience in sports and entertainment venues makes the firm “a perfect fit for the Rose Bowl.”
