Jason Muss Steps into Presidency at Muss Development

Continuing more than a century of family ownership, Muss Development principal Jason Muss will also serve as its president. Muss, who joined the 113-year-old company in 1996, has refocused its efforts in the past five years, notably in Brooklyn and Queens.

In Brooklyn, for example, Muss initiated 1 Brooklyn Bay, a new ground-up high-rise residential project in a joint venture with AvalonBay. And, he has spearheaded a campaign to reposition the firm’s generational assets, such as the Forest Hills Tower office property in Queens. He also oversaw the refinancing of $300 million worth of properties in 2018 alone.

“We have an excellent team in place, with a strategic plan to build on the last hundred years and move toward the next hundred,” said Muss. “This is an exciting moment in my career, and I’m looking forward to continuing the legacy that has been built.”
