J.P. Morgan Chase: Yes To Renewable Energy

J.P. Morgan Chase is hard at work, switching all of its facilities to 100% renewable power by the year 2020. In Texas, 75% of the company’s facilities will run on wind energy by the end of 2017. That will focus on 584 branches, totaling 8 million square feet, and the financial giant’s brand-new 1.2-million-square-foot campus in Plano, TX’s Legacy West development.

To power the locations, J.P. Morgan Chase embarked on a 20-year deal to buy more than half the electricity generated by NRG Energy’s Buckthorn wind farm in Erath County, southwest of Fort Worth. The farm is expected to start operating by the end of 2017. Meanwhile, the financial company will install solar panels on 1,400 branches and its headquarters.
