Hunington Properties Expands to Central TX

Houston-based commercial brokerage Hunington Properties is expanding to Central Texas by late fall. The company purchased 1715 South Capital of Texas Hwy., a 16,500-square-foot building in the Westbank area of Austin, bordering Texas Loop 360.

The business center, which holds space for companies interested in leasing, will serve as Hunington’s regional office. Local architecture and interior design firm JDAI Studio has been hired to remodel the property.

The company chose to extend its real estate footprint to Austin because of its population boom over the past decade, high quality of life, stable economy, and significance the city holds for Hunington’s CEO, Sandy P. Aron.

“I’ve had a special affinity for Austin ever since I attended The University of Texas in 1972,” said Aron. “As we made plans to expand our development program, the need to be here was obvious because of the city’s growth, among other things.”
