HPI Horne Storage Breaks Ground on First Self-Storage
HPI Real Estate Services & Investments is joining forces with California developer Hugh Horne to form HPI Horne Storage, a joint venture focused on developing self-storage space. The new entity broke ground on its first property, a 134,000-square-foot facility at 10126 Potranco Rd. in far west San Antonio. Completion is expected by April 2019. Archon Architecture designed the project, and SBS Construction is the general contractor.
The new facility will offer 979 units, with HPI Horne Storage managing it. An unnamed self-storage REIT will manage it. The company’s second and third storage facilities are already being planned in San Antonio, at 12727 Vista Del Norte, and adjacent to Pear, near downtown.
Hugh Horne with HPI Horne indicated that the joint venture will develop several sites throughout San Antonio, as well as building “a national portfolio of 20-plus properties over the next three-to-five years.”
