Houston Methodist Launches $250M Expansion in The Woodlands
Two years after opening its first hospital in the far north Houston suburb of The Woodlands, Houston Methodist began expansion plans. The healthcare system broke ground on a $250-million patient tower that will offer 100 beds, 10 more operating rooms, and endoscopy, heart, diagnostic imaging and emergency centers expansions. The new tower is scheduled to open in early 2022.
“We were tracking the volumes and the need for demand almost a year ago,” Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital’s Debbie Sulkin told the Houston Chronicle. “Then, made the decision six months ago, and put it through all the appropriate boards and capital.”
Given that the healthcare center is a master-plan hospital, it could be that expansions will take place in the coming years, including the addition of medical office buildings/facilities and parking.
