Homewood Suites Coming to Harlingen

Construction will begin Oct. 1, 2017 on an 89-room Homewood Suites by Hilton on Sesame Drive in Harlingen, TX. Completion on the 73,088-square-foot facility is anticipated in about two years. A spokesperson for Hilton indicated that opening day is planned for July 2019.

Ocean Gate Investments LLC, headquartered in Pharr, TX, is the franchisee that will be operating the new hotel, which is being built at a $4 million cost.

Homewood Suites is being added to other hotels going north in Harlingen. A four-story, 94-key Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott is planned on a site not too far from the Homewood suites, with construction scheduled to begin in fall 2017. In addition, BC Lynd Hospitality is planning a 150-room Hilton Garden Inn at Brazil Road and Teege Avenue, near Harlingen’s new convention center.
