Healthcare Technology Hits Major Retailers’ Shelves
By: Daniella Soloway
As the baby boomer population ages and health technology innovates, the lines between healthcare, fitness, and retail continue to blur. Retailers continue to adopt healthcare technology, as fitness wearables have become more than a fashion trend and way to keep track of one’s physical activity. Major corporations are utilizing these devices to bridge the gap between individuals and healthcare services.
Mckinsey, a global management consulting firm, estimates that $225 billion will be spent nationally on medical technology in 2020, accounting for 42% of the worldwide spend.
