Greystar Proposes 6-Block MXU Development in Redwood City
Charleston, SC-based Greystar unveiled plans for a six-block mixed-use development on El Camino Real in Redwood City, CA. The multifamily owner wants to build a project that would include 272 residential units, 590,000 square feet of office, and 10,000 square feet of retail, as well as a 10,000-square-foot child care center.
The proposed development sits on an 8.3-acre site in the El Camino Corridor south of Redwood City’s downtown core. The 10 separate parcels assembled for the project are mainly owned by companies held by Benjamin Kopf, which operates Ford and Acura car dealerships on the sites.
Greystar’s Ali Warner says the assemblage is believed of “sufficient scale to create a cohesive development in line with the objectives of the proposed corridor plan.” The vision is for a pedestrian-friendly community with plenty of open space that encourages use of public transit.
