Google Signs First Office Deal in San Diego
Google confirmed it is opening its first office in San Diego. The tech firm is taking nearly 60,000 square feet at Sorrento Mesa’s Verge, a two-building, 311,305-square-foot office campus acquired by Invesco Real Estate and San Diego-based Cruzan in 2015 for $85.5 million.
The four-story, 115,058-square-foot office building is located at 6420 Sequence Dr. within a nearly 26-acre canyon reserve site. Cruzan’s re-designed property includes such onsite amenities as an 8,000-square-foot fitness facility with indoor/outdoor group classes and resort-style locker room facilities, a café, soccer field, amphitheater, dog park, bike storage and direct access to hiking trails.
Google’s occupancy plans remain undisclosed, but local tech industry observers expect Google to add “high-caliber engineering jobs” at the site. CBRE’s Christopher Pascale, Mike Hoeck, and Ellycia Halden handle leasing at the property.
