Google Proposes Another Large-Scale MXU Development in Mountain View
Mountain View-based Google submitted plans for the Middlefield Park Master Plan, a mixed-use development that would bring up to 1.33 million square feet of office space to Mountain View. The project is also envisioned for up to 1,850 residential units, 30,000 square feet of active uses and retail sites, 20,000 square feet of civic, event, and amenities spaces, and 12 acres of open space.
The 40-acre Alphabet Inc.-owned site is near East Middlefield Road and State Route 237. The project will integrate a mix of uses and add much-needed housing for the region.
Australia-based Lendlease is partnering with Google on the development. Lendlease’s Andrew Chappell told the Mercury News, “We are eager to move forward in collaboration with Google, delivering much-needed housing in the Bay Area. We are confident that we can turn the Middlefield Park master plan into a reality.”
The latest development proposal comes two months after Mountain View approved Google’s 1.3-million-square-foot Landings development in North Bayshore.
