Google Buying Three NetApp Buildings for $319M
Google acquired a trio of properties in Sunnyvale, CA for nearly $319 million, bringing its acquisition spree to more than $1 billion. The Mountain View, CA-based search giant is buying buildings from NetApp that total roughly 381,000 square feet.
The assets include 495 E. Java Dr., a 127,000-square-foot building (pictured), 475 E. Java Dr., a 133,000-square-foot building and 1330 Geneva Dr., a 121,000-square-foot building. According to SEC filings, Sunnyvale-based NetApp will lease back at least one of the buildings for a limited term.
The sales are slated to close in two stages, one by early 2018 and the other by Q4 2018.
In July, Google acquired about 45 Sunnyvale properties for a combined valued of roughly $800 million. Google, in partnership with Trammell Crow, also has been actively acquiring properties in downtown San Jose, near the Diridon train station, to develop an eight-million to 10-million-square-foot Google Village.
