Global Law Firm Sublets 55K-SF in the CBD
Gibson Dunn, an international law firm that arrived in Houston in early 2017, found its permanent office space at BG Group Place, 811 Main, in downtown Houston. Specifically, the law firm sublet 55,000 square feet on the 30th and 31st floors from Shell, with plans to relocate to its new digs early in 2018. Gibson Dunn currently works out of temporary offices in LyondellBasell Tower.
“Gibson Dunn had a geographic hole in their practice. That was Houston,” Michael P. Darden, partner in charge of the Houston office, told the Houston Chronicle.
Shell moved most of its downtown operations to west Houston, and has sublet the bulk of the BG Group Place’s 300,000 square feet. The energy giant ended up with the space when it acquired BG Group in 2016. Cushman & Wakefield’s Tim Relyea heads the team that handles deals for Shell.
