Flexport Takes 137K SF from Prism Realty in Compton
Flexport fully leased a recently-developed 136,685-square-foot industrial facility in Compton, CA. The property is owned and was developed by Prism Realty Corp., a Costa Mesa, CA-based retail and industrial developer focused on urban infill and suburban markets in SoCal and key West Coast markets.
The transaction with the San Francisco-headquartered air and ocean freight forwarder represents the first tenant in the facility that delivered in Q4 2017. Flexport will utilize the site for its freight-forwarding operation, as it intensifies service from operating a charter flight from Hong Kong a few times a week.
The facility, located at 1420 N. McKinley Ave., is situated on 6.7 acres at E. Rosecrans Ave. Features include 32-foot clear height, 27 dock high doors, 100% concrete truck court and drives, skylights, secured truck yard, heavy power, as well as 8,770 square feet of offices with a two-story atrium lobby.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Rusty Smith represented the tenant, which is backed by Google Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, First Round Capital, and Y Combinator, and is redefining how companies manage global supply chains. CBRE’s Bret Quinlan represented the owner.
The Connect Industrial conference will take place July 11. For more information, or to register, log on here.
