First Texas MF Fitwel Certification Awarded to The McKenzie
The recently-completed, 183-unit The McKenzie in Dallas became the first Texas multifamily complex certified by Fitwel®, according to the Center for Active Design (CfAD). CfAD is dedicated to supporting wellness and health through building design with help from its Fitwel® Certification System.
StreetLights Residential and partner Tricon Capital Group Inc. recently delivered the 22-story property at 3140 Harvard Ave., in Dallas’ Uptown submarket. The property has a bike-share station, designed refrigerated area for fresh- and frozen-food delivery and storage, safe and accessible street infrastructure for pedestrians, a smoke-free environment and outdoor living spaces.
Additionally, the units were designed with a focus on air and water quality such as enhanced ventilations practices, blackout shades, Lutron smart lighting and windows designed to minimize exterior noise levels. Architecture was provided by Looney Ricks Kiss Architects. Linda Tycher & Associates served as the landscape architect, and Waldrop + Nichols Studio was the interior designer.
