Expel to Expand Headquarters in Herndon

Managed-security provider Expel, Inc. has announced plans to expand its headquarters in Herndon, VA. The firm will invest $1.4 million to expand its operations and create 164 new jobs in engineering, customer experience, IT, marketing and sales over the next three years.

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority and the town of Herndon worked with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to secure the project for Virginia, and will support the company’s job creation through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP).

“Expel was founded in Virginia, and the company’s headquarters is located in Herndon, right in the heart of the Dulles tech corridor,” said Dave Merkel, CEO at Expel. “There’s a fantastic pool of tech talent located in Northern Virginia, and we have close proximity to strong education institutions and major tech companies. All of those factors combined make Fairfax County and Northern Virginia a prime location for Expel to grow its business.”
