EW Howell Completes Build-Out at JFK’s TWA Hotel

EW Howell Construction Group completed the build-out of TWA Fitness, reportedly the world’s largest hotel fitness center, at the TWA Hotel, totaling 10,000 square feet. The firm’s interior division was tapped by MCR and MORSE Development as construction manager for the fitness center.

Originally built in 1962 by Eero Saarinen as a terminal for Trans World Airlines, the landmarked property at JFK International Airport was restored by MCR and MORSE Development into a 512-key hotel.

“Working on the fitness center at the TWA Hotel was a unique experience, both in terms of the project’s prestige as well as the logistical and timing challenges that come with working on a very active project site with many moving parts,” said Robert Hohmann, VP of EW Howell’s interiors division. “We were also very proud to be part of the preservation of such an iconic piece of New York history.”
