Ernst & Young Remains, Extends at 5 Houston

Ernst & Young LLP leased 120,827 square feet at 5 Houston, an office lease representing a relocation and extension within the building. Transwestern represented the landlord, Spear Street Capital. Glenn Dyke, Sanford Criner and Jeff Cairns with CBRE negotiated on behalf of the tenant.

Spear Street Capital acquired the 581,000-square-foot 6 Houston Center at 1401 McKinney St. in January 2017 as part of a three-property buy from Columbia Property Trust. Since that time, the owner has made improvements to the property, including lobby upgrades and a fitness center. According to Transwestern’s Tyler Garrett, the improvements “were all integral in the tenant’s decision to extend their lease.”

Another 5 Houston tenant, law firm Jackson Walker, renewed its lease and expanded space in January 2018.
