Emanuel to Open Chicago Office for NY Investment Banker

Weeks after completing his tenure as mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel has joined investment banking firm Centerview Partners. Emanuel (pictured) will establish a Chicago office for the New York-based firm.

“I am excited to use my lifelong experience as an adviser and problem-solver in both the public and private sectors in this next chapter of my career,” Emanuel said.

“Rahm’s leadership and vast experience providing strategic advice, coupled with a track record of successful planning and execution, will bring tremendous value to our firm and our clients,” said Blair Effron, co-founder of Centerview. “Establishing a presence in Chicago is a logical next step for Centerview as we continue to grow, and it positions us to better serve existing and new clients throughout the Midwest.”

In addition to his career in public service, Emanuel has worked in banking. He was a managing director at Wasserstein Perella, based in Chicago.
