Ed Balazs Joins CBRE from Citigroup
CBRE Group, Inc. expanded its Capital Markets’ debt and structured finance team with the addition of Edward “Ed” Balazs as executive vice president in the DTLA office. He joins from Citigroup, where he most recently served as Director, Western Region Manager.
Balazs, who brings more than 25 years of senior CRE finance experience, will enhance CBRE’s presence in SoCal’s commercial debt space. He’s originated, structured and closed in excess of $15 billion of CRE loans over his career, including lines of credit, construction, bridge and permanent loans, A/B note structures and mezzanine debt.
He will report to Jeff Majewski, who said, “Ed’s tremendous knowledge of the commercial real estate lending market, combined with his outstanding relationships spanning several decades as a lender, will be instrumental to CBRE’s continued growth in the region and a complement to our existing teams in the West.”
