East New York Gets New Affordable Units
Developers B&B Urban and L+M Development Partners said that Linwood Park Apartments has officially opened to residents. It’s among the first affordable buildings to open in New York City since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and is the first affordable building to be completed following the large-scale rezoning of Brooklyn’s East New York neighborhood in 2016.
The 10-story project includes 10 units of affordable housing for families earning less than 50% percent of Area Median Income (AMI), along with 59 units of affordable housing for families earning under 60% of AMI. An additional 30 units of supportive housing have been set aside for formerly homeless families.
“This marks the completion of the first new residences made possible by the city’s large-scale rezoning of East New York and we are especially gratified that 100% of the apartments will serve low-income New Yorkers,” said Alan Bell, principal of B&B Urban.
