Downtown Portland’s Hyatt Unbound Development Advances
The proposed 21-story Hyatt Unbound in downtown Portland secured a building permit for a 250-room hotel at 245 SW Salmon St. The nearly $32.8 million project is being developed by Third & Taylor Development LLC, a partnership between Onder Development and Arthur Mutal.
The approval allows the developer to move forward with construction plans on a 180,000-square-foot project that will include ground-floor retail, a conference center, gym, ground-floor restaurant, bar/market, support spaces and rooftop restaurant and bar. The project site includes the 1906 Hotel Albion building, since 1924 the home of the Lotus Cardroom & Café, though it is not listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The site is also currently occupied by surface parking.
A project development timeline was not specified. The project’s architect is Ankrom Moisan Architects.
