Downtown Longview Street Work Continues

Longview, TX’s city council has voted on a $9.2 million bid with Longview Bridge and Road to rebuild more than a mile of East Cotton Street between Green Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. also part of the deal: contract negotiations to acquire four tracts of property on East Cotton. The project could begin as early as October.

According to local media, traffic on Cotton Street is already reduced to one westbound lane west of Green Street to High Street in preparation for the $5.1 million of Center Street. The street construction is part of a $52 million bond package passed by voters in 2011.
