Downtown L.A. Retail Skyrockets
Since downtown Los Angeles is seeing an uptick in creative-office space and multifamily housing, it only makes sense that an increase in retail uses would soon follow.
According to the Downtown L.A. Retail Report, released by The Downtown Center Business Improvement District, the downtown L.A. retail market is really taking off. The group says there is 1.8 million square feet of retail under construction downtown, and another one-million square feet planned.
Exemplifying this retail upswing in downtown L.A. are the recently opened 41,000-square-foot Whole Foods market, as well as well as the 450,000-square-foot The BLOC open-air center scheduled to open soon.
