Disney CEO Tapped for NFL

The NFL’s San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders joint stadium saga in Los Angeles continues with a new player. Disney CEO Bob Iger, tapped by the Raiders, is now serving as the non-executive chairman of Carson Holdings LLC in an effort to re-locate the franchises.

In his new position, Iger will reportedly oversee the stadium’s design, construction and marketing and be responsible for hiring a president for day-to-day operations.

As of now, the city of Oakland has no plans for a developer, location or funding to create a stadium to keep the Raiders there.

With a five–year contract, automatic two-year renewal option, and $1 annual salary, Iger will have the option to acquire part equity ownership in either of the franchises. The ownership option will only become available if and when he steps down from his CEO position at Disney.
