Dirt Work Underway on Senior Community Center

G&G Construction has begun dirt work on a new Best Years Center in Beaumont, TX. The new senior center at 150 Magnolia Ave. will go north at a cost of approximately $6.1 million, and completion is anticipated by March, 2018. G&G is currently excavating the site, and will soon add stabilizer soil to the hole, before running utilities and pouring the foundation. Architectural Alliance is the designer.

The new center will be 29,400 square feet, and while it is approximately the same size as the current Best Years Center at 780 S. Fourth St., it will be designed more efficiently. It will have a new main meeting room on the first floor that the city’s event facilities department can rent.

Best Years Center is owned and operated by the city of Beaumont. The new facility is one of the last projects to be completed on $42 million borrowed in 2013, as part of the city’s capital improvement budget.
