Dignity Health Set for 35-Acre Elk Grove Hospital Development

Dignity Health officials joined with Elk Grove, CA city leaders to announce plans for a new hospital campus to serve the greater Sacramento metro region. The announcement took place at the future site — Wymark Drive and Elk Grove Boulevard.

Dignity Health unveiled the vision after a nearly 10-year planning process. Construction is expected to take seven to eight years to complete the new 35-acre campus.

The project’s first phase includes a 200,000-square-foot, acute-care hospital, which will have private rooms for every patient. Officials say it will also serve patients from south Sacramento and Galt. Dignity Heath plans to employ more than 1,200 people at the location. City and hospital officials hope to have the new hospital up and running by late 2026 or early 2027.

Dignity Health announced in early December that it will close Methodist Hospital in South Sacramento after completion of this new Elk Grove campus.
