Digit 1919 Apartments Heads to California Investor
Porgest Properties, a trust in Modesto CA, now owns Digit 1919, a 102-unit apartment complex, located south of downtown Dallas. Zad Roumaya was the seller/developer of the complex at 1919 S. Akard St., which opened in late 2017. Roumaya told the Dallas Morning News that the property was 97% leased when sold. “The project has done very well,” he said.
The building offers on-site amenities such as an on-site dog wash and dog-/cat-sitting service, covered parking, bike racks and shared amenities (such as a pool) with the nearby Lorenzo Hotel. The unit mix consists of one and two-bedroom apartments, ranging from 685 to 1,145 square feet.
The four-story apartment building is in a neighborhood known as the Cedars, which is experiencing interest from investors and developers. Digit 1919 was Roumaya’s second Cedars development. In 2007, he built the Buzz, consisting of 49 condominiums at South Akard and Griffin Streets.
