Developers Face the Neighborhood in Two Bridges

High-rise developers once again faced highly-skeptical residents of Manhattan’s Two Bridges neighborhood last week.

The four developers, JDS, L+M Development Partners, CIM Group, and Starrett, plan to build a cluster of residential towers, each rising more than 700 feet over the East River waterfront near the foot of the Manhattan Bridge.

The recent meeting was the second of four planned, as the developers craft their “environmental impact statement” for the City. Community meetings are also planned for March and April. Local residents are concerned about blocked views, rising rents, and the strain of construction on their neighborhood.
