Derek Fleming Joins HR&A as Senior Advisor

Derek Fleming has joined HR&A Advisors as a senior advisor. He’ll provide current and new clients expertise in deal structuring, negotiations, capital raising, business development strategies and community engagement.

For the past five years, locally based Fleming has served as managing partner of MSDG, LLC, where he and his partner, Miami-based developer Michael Simkins, focus on urban infill and community-oriented sustainable redevelopment projects.

Fleming also has 12 years’ experience in the public sector. He ran an Empowerment Zone public lending portfolio for Empire State Development, and also spent four years as project manager for the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency.

“Joining HR&A presents an opportunity to combine my commitment to improving the lives of those people living and working in challenging environments with my extensive knowledge of public and private development,” Fleming said.
