Delta Cuts Back on Flight Capacity to U.K.
The effects of Brexit have affected the global economy, but the airline industry has already largely felt its impact and is being active in adjusting its practices. Atlanta-based Delta Airlines is reducing its flight capacity to the U.K. because of the British pound’s decline.
During its winter schedule, the airline will reduce its capacity between the U.S. and U.K. by six percentage points. The airline will also scale back on its off-day flights and move its leisure market travel to smaller jets.
It’s also important to note that Delta has a 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic, which is headquartered in London. Delta is focused on stabilizing its declining revenues.
