Cybersecurity Operations Hub Likely for Port S.A.
Port San Antonio may be the site of a new cybersecurity operations hub if the Virginia-based company looking to develop it receives development incentives.
LGS Innovations hopes to expand its current San Antonio office into a hub for its offerings. Those include acquisition services, network operations, software development and training, according to the San Antonio Business Journal. LGS develops communications, and is a government research and development contractor.
The San Antonio Economic Development Foundation brokered the deal between the city, Port San Antonio and LGS. The company also considered sites in Maryland, Virginia and Georgia for its hub. LGS would relocate into Port San Antonio’s Tech Building, the first phase of a planned cybersecurity campus at the former Kelly Air Force Base.
Some 46 jobs would be added if the San Antonio City Council next week approves a $180,000 grant for employee training. Bexar County is considering a grant for skills development.
“We are proud to expand our presence in dynamic markets like Port San Antonio, and see great potential for continued work there with new and existing customers, partners and the community,” LGS Innovations CEO Kevin Kelly said.
