CushWake Marketing Waterfront Brooklyn Parcel for ConEd
Cushman & Wakefield is marketing a waterfront development site in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood. The seller is utility company Consolidated Edison Company of New York, which operated facilities until 1977 on what is now the River Street Assemblage.
“This site offers a massive 3.2-acre footprint carrying up to 278,910 square feet of as-of-right commercial development rights and the opportunity to capitalize on the growing demand for Class A office and big box retail,” said vice chairman Stephen Palmese of Cushman & Wakefield. Palmese and his colleagues Brendan Maddigan, Andrew Behymer, Ethan Stanton and Michael Mazzara are leading marketing efforts on behalf of ConEd.
The assemblage is located in an M3-1 zoning district, permitting a wide array of commercial uses, including retail, office and light-manufacturing. A project developed on the parcel will benefit from its waterfront exposure, expansive Manhattan views and 385 feet of River Street frontage, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
