CRE Tech Engages Energy Efficiencies with Hatch Launch

Former leaders of EnerNOC’s Energy Intelligence Software business have launched Hatch Data as a new, independent operating entity dedicated to commercial real estate assets.

WindSail Capital, a Boston-based investment firm focused on energy innovation and sustainability, capitalized Hatch Data to enable the company to be independent and solely focus on its building operations performance management software.

Based in San Francisco, Hatch already serves more than 250 companies (including Beacon Capital Partners, Boston Properties and Hines) by capturing, organizing, and analyzing operating data across more than 350 million square feet of occupied space. Hatch software essentially collects, organizes, and analyzes minute-by-minute data streaming from commodity meters, sub-meters, building automation systems, work orders, market data, and other third-party systems to inform diagnostics, prediction, and response planning.

According to Hatch CEO Zach Robin, “Operators make buildings smart, and we’re on a mission to help them scale their impact across entire portfolios.”
